About us

We are Social Response: the world’s first non-profit fundraising agency. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to make a positive impact by acquiring donors for non-profit causes, in a non-profit manner. We recruit donors for these organisations and help them to in turn help others. Climate, human rights, refugees… you name it. We work every day to make the world a better place. As a Captain, you will lead a team and ensure quality and growth.

What will you do as a Captain?

As a Captain, you are responsible for directing, motivating, and coaching a team of fundraisers. You are the point of contact on location and ensure a positive and professional atmosphere. Your tasks will include:

  • Directing and motivating: You lead a team of fundraisers, maintain positive energy, and keep a sharp focus on daily objectives.
  • On-the-floor coaching: You guide team members individually and in groups, provide feedback, and ensure everyone has the tools to succeed.
  • Maintaining quality: You lead by example for the team and oversee the quality of the fundraising and interactions with the public.
  • Training new colleagues: You take new team members under your wing, teach them the tricks of the trade, and ensure they get off to a flying start.
  • Reporting and improving: You monitor results, identify opportunities, and share your insights with management to continuously improve campaigns.

What we are looking for in you

  • Genuine passion for charity
  • HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level
  • Proficiency in Dutch at C1 level and English at B1 level, or vice versa: English C1/Dutch B1
  • Experience in face-to-face fundraising or sales. Preferably with a proven track record in leading a team
  • Proven experience in meeting and exceeding fundraising targets, and a passion for passing on this knowledge
  • You are an excellent communicator, enthusiastic, and have a strong sense of perseverance
  • You are flexible and available to work between 10:00 and 21:00 and during weekends
  • You live in or are willing to work in the Rotterdam region and are willing to travel if necessary
